VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) _ Ozzie Young rushed for two touchdowns and caught another Saturday as Valparaiso beat Kentucky Wesleyan 36-27 in a game played in heavy wind and snow.

It was a game of big plays as Young scored on touchdowns runs of 76 and 20 yards for the Crusaders (5-5).

Wesleyan (5-5) led 13-8 early in the second quarter after Fred Hager returned the kickoff following Young’s first score 90 yards for a touchdown. In the first quarter, Sedrick Robinson caught an 18-yard TD pass from Erick Stockton.

The Crusaders took a 22-13 lead at halftime on two Nick Browder touchdown passes. Browder hit Scott Hinrichs with a 67-yarder and Young from the 12-yard line.

The teams traded touchdowns in the third quarter, with Stockton rushing for a 2-yard score and passing for a 61-yard TD to Anthony Payton. Valparaiso scored on an 8-yard run by Browder, and Crusaders led 28-27.

Young, who rushed for 120 yards on 10 carries, scored the final quarter’s only touchdown on a 29-yard run with 1:47 to play.

Stockton completed 19-of-39 passes for 279 yards.

Valparaiso rushed for 204 yards while holding Wesleyan to negative 7 yards on the ground.
