Greensburg woman pleads guilty to taking money from men who molested 3-year-old girl

October 2, 2018

Rebecca Shadle: Police say two men agreed to pay her $60 to kiss and molest a young girl.

A Greensburg woman could serve up to 60 years in prison for human trafficking after she pleaded guilty Tuesday to allowing men to have sex with a 3-year-old girl.

Rebecca Shadle, 39, will ask a Westmoreland County judge to decide how much time she spends in prison. She rejected a plea deal for a 10- to 20-year prison sentence with an additional seven years of probation.

Instead, Shadle pleaded guilty to four charges -- trafficking of a minor for sexual purposes, child endangerment, aggravated indecent assault and conspiracy.

Prosecutors said Shadle allowed men to pay her to have sexual contact with the girl. Specifically, police said two men agreed to pay Shadle $60 to kiss and touch the child in a sexual manner.

Prosecutors said the incidents occurred between 2013 and January 2017 at Shadle’s Greensburg apartment in Eastmont Estates. Shadle’s then-estranged husband, Scott Shadle, pleaded guilty in February with promoting prostitution and was sentenced to serve two to 23 months in jail. He has since been paroled.

Assistant District Attorney Judy Petrush said she will ask the judge to order Rebecca Shadle to serve at least 10 to 20 years in prison.

“This was a vulnerable child who was the victim on ongoing abuse,” Petrush said.

The two men police said paid Rebecca Shadle to have sexual contact with the child also were charged. David Allen Smith, 38, of Greensburg pleaded guilty to charges that he had sexual contact with a child and was sentenced to serve nine to 23 months in jail.

Brian Keith Spillar was charged with identical offenses, but Petrush said he died before he could be prosecuted.
