Trojans defeat Parkview, move to 4-0 in Trailways South

January 5, 2019

JUNEAU — Dodgeland improved to 4-0 in the Trailways South with a 42-30 dual meet victory over Parkview on Thursday.

Dominic McHugh (126 pounds), Drake Felder (132), Andrew Benzing (160), Ty Bader (182) and heavyweight Mason Huelsman each won by fall for the Trojans, while Braxton Kohn (106) and Julian Thull (152) both won decisions. Ryan Neu received a forfeit at 170.

“Strong performance by Julian Thull, beating Korben Brown 6-5,” Dodgeland wrestling coach Josh Engel said. “Korben is probably their best wrestler. For Julian to step up like that was awesome. He’s starting to wrestle like a senior should. Other big wins were at 160 by Andrew Benzing, Tye Bader at 182, and once again Mason sealed the deal for us at heavyweight with a big pin. At 106, Braxton Kohn had a tough fought win. Their 106 (wrestler) was tough. Braxton fought for six minutes. He gave a little away early on, but fought back, caught a big five-pointer and ground out the win. Very proud of the team effort.”
