Woman arrested in male roommate’s death in North Las Vegas
NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say a woman has been arrested in North Las Vegas in connection with the death of her male roommate.
North Las Vegas police say officers found 50-year-old man inside of an apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound on Friday.
Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
His name hasn’t been released yet.
Police say 30-year-old Kiahna Hawkins told officers that she acted in self-defense.
But detectives’ extensive investigation led to the arrest of Hawkins on suspicion of murder with a deadly weapon.
Hawkins has been booked into the Las Vegas City Jail.
It was unclear Sunday if she has a lawyer yet who can speak on her behalf.
