VIRGINIA LEE ANDREWS went to be with the Lord on Sept. 5, 2018, at the age of 92. She was born in Cumberland, Md. She had been residing with her daughter and granddaughter in Queens, N.Y. (Although she would tell you that her heart was in West Virginia with her dear friends). She earned her RN at Women’s Hospital in Baltimore, Md., and worked at Johns Hopkins. From 1969 to 2007 she lived in Huntington. She continued to work as a nurse throughout her career and after moving to Huntington taught nursing at Marshall University. Virginia was born on July 3, 1926, to Charles A. and Rena May Oglebay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Q. Andrews; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Laverda Oglebay and Thomas and Doris Oglebay; and son, Joseph Q. Andrews Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Lynne Andrews; granddaughter, Jessica Santaromita; and son-in-law, Jerzy Kurjanski; and great-granddaughters, Natalia and Aila Kurjanski. Her faith was central to all she did in life, and she was a spiritual mentor to friends and family. She spent time doing missionary work in Uganda and Guyana. She was a founding member of Providence Presbyterian Church in Barboursville. Her memorial service will be held at Providence Presbyterian Church, 5865 Davis Creek Road, Barboursville, WV, on October 22, 2018, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the missionary ministries that she supported: Global Outreach International, PO Box 1, Tupelo, MS 38802, and Rafiki, PO Box 1988, Eustis, FL 32727.
