Envision Healthcare: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Envision Healthcare Corporation (EVHC) on Monday reported a second-quarter loss of $1.84 billion, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Nashville, Tennessee-based company said it had a loss of $15.21. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 92 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 88 cents per share.
The ambulatory surgery center operator posted revenue of $2.07 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Twelve analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.1 billion.
Envision Healthcare shares have climbed 28 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Monday, shares hit $44.35, a decline of 21 percent in the last 12 months.
