US women sweep podium at High Diving World Cup
KAZAN, Russia (AP) — Americans Rachelle Simpson, Ginger Huber and Cesilie Carlton swept the top three women’s spots Sunday in the inaugural FINA High Diving World Cup.
In the men’s 27-meter contest, Orlando Duque of Colombia won with 601.20, ahead of Gary Hunt of Britain at 580.05 and American Steven Lobue with 571.70.
Simpson won the 20-meter competition with 216.00 points. She earned 86.70 on her second of three dives, which was the highest score of anyone in the women’s contest.
Huber was second with 191.60 and Carlton took third with 571.70.
