Moron of the Morning: Woman Drives 115 MPH In Snow

January 30, 2019

The Illinois State Police are reminding motorists to take snowy road conditions seriously with a cautionary tale: a woman ticketed going 115 miles per hour through town in a 35 mile per hour zone.

The woman was ticketed for speeding 35 miles or more over the speed limit through a town with road conditions were slushy or snowy. “If you think we don’t patrol in town, you’re mistaken. And if you think you won’t get in a bad crash in town because the speed limits are low and you’re a good driver, think again. Just remember there are people like this driving next to you,” said the ISP in a Facebook post.

The stop happened at the address of Market Street and Wilbur Avenue. ISP did not specify a town, though such an intersection exists in Champaign. The woman’s name was not disclosed.
