Gerald F. Anderson, 81, of Bradley, passed away Thursday (March 7, 2019) at Amita Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee.
He was born Nov. 15, 1937, in Hammond, La., the son of Frederick R. and Lucille (Pelletier) Anderson. Gerald married Sharon White on June 25, 1966, in Manteno. She preceded him in death Jan. 7, 2008.
Gerald enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, watching classic war movies and listening to jazz and older music.
He was a very hardworking guy and also enjoyed reading books on the wars.
Gerald proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig (Cheryl) Anderson, of Bradley, and Nathan (Mary) Anderson, of Aroma Park; and three grandchildren, Mathew Anderson, Lilly Anderson and Brady Anderson.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Ann Marie.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, March 11, at Schreffler Funeral Homes, Bourbonnais Chapel. A private burial will be at a later date.
