Warm weather, clear skies start weekend before rain comes Sunday
Friday and Saturday will be pleasant, with clear skies and warm temperatures, meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner said.
Friday will have a high of 74 degrees, and Saturday will have a high of 76 degrees, almost 10 degrees warmer than usual this time of year.
There are no worries for rain either day.
Friday started mild, with temperatures in the mid-40s. Southwesterly winds are bringing warm air to the Triangle.
A high-pressure system that had been bringing in cold air has moved east of the Triangle, which helps funnel in that warm air.
There’s a 30 percent chance of rain for Sunday, though, with temperatures in the mid-60s.
“You can still get out on Sunday, but it just won’t be as easy and simple as it will be on Saturday with those beautiful conditions,” Gardner said.
Temperatures will drop to 54 degrees Monday as a cold front moves in.
After another day in the 50s, Wednesday warms back up to the mid-60s.
