Dodge County woman found guilty of starving dog to death
JUNEAU – A 27-year-old Kekoskee woman was found guilty Monday of animal neglect after a dog was found dead on her property.
Abigail Joy Billings entered a no contest plea to a felony charge of mistreatment of animals causing death. Dodge County Circuit Court Judge Brian Pfitzinger accepted Billings’s plea and dismissed, but read into the record a misdemeanor count of failure to provide food for an animal.
Pfitzinger withheld sentencing and placed Billings on probation for three years. She must serve 12 months in jail and pay fees. In addition, she may not own, possess or train any animal for five years.
