Flyers Reacquire Winger Jody Hull

October 15, 1999

PHILADELPHIA (AP) _ The Flyers acquired right wing Jody Hull from the Atlanta Thrashers on Friday, hoping he will help the winless Philadelphia team defend leads and kill penalties, team officials said.

Hull, 30, registered 14 points and 12 penalty minutes in 72 games for the Flyers last season.

``Right now, we need to sure ourselves up defensively. Jody did a real good job last year for us that way. That’s what we’re hoping he’ll be able to do again,″ coach Roger Neilson said in a statement.

The 6-foot-2, 195 pounder may play in Saturday’s game against Detroit, Neilson said.

Hull, an 11-year NHL veteran, was selected by the Thrashers in the expansion draft on June 25 but did not appear in any regular-season games with Atlanta. He was acquired by the Flyers in exchange for future considerations.
