CHICAGO (AP) _ Kim Williams scored 32 points and No. 25 DePaul built a 55-36 halftime lead, then held off a late Marquette rally for an 89-83 victory Friday night.

Williams also had six assists and six steals _ both game highs _ in the Conference USA contest. Mfon Udoka had 15 points and 19 rebounds for DePaul’s Blue Demons (11-2 overall, 3-1 USA).

The Golden Eagles (11-5, 3-1) were paced by Clare Barnard’s 24 points. Her 13 points after halftime helped Marquette chop a 59-40 deficit to a six-point margin at the end.

DePaul led from the first basket, a jumper by Udoka. The Demons biggest lead was 50-30.

DePaul made 8-of-17 three-point shots.

Lisa Oldenburg had 15 points for the Eagles and Kris Booker had 17 for the Demons.
