Ashburnham Church’s Piano Series Resumes
ASHBURNAM -- The Historical Piano Concerts series at Ashburnham Community Church, 9 Chapel St., resumes Sunday, Sept. 16, at 4 p.m., with a solo performance of works by Robert Schumann.
Pianist Clemens Teufel will play the Streicher piano, made in 1846 in Vienna, from the internationally recognized Frederick Collection of Historical Pianos.
The program consists of three works composed in the 1830s and ’40s: “Vier Klavierstücke” (“Four Keyboard Pieces”); “Waldszenen” (“Forest Scenes”); and “Kreisleriana,” a set of pieces inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s colorful fictional character.
The piano concerts will continue at the church every Sunday at 4 p.m., through Oct. 28, except Sunday, Oct. 21, when there is no concert. Each concert is followed by a generous reception to which the audience is invited.
Admission is $15 per adult; children and students are free. No reservations are needed.
