CSP holiday enforcement nets 8 DUI arrests
As of Thursday morning, Connecticut State Police had responded to more than 2,000 calls for service so far this holiday weekend.
Thanksgiving Holiday enforcement began at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday. It will continue through the remainder of the week and through the weekend.
As of 8 a.m., troopers had received 2,319 calls for service. Of those more than 2,000 calls were 126 reported accidents, including one serious crash in North Haven that killed a New Yorker.
Troopers have conducted hundreds of motor vehicle stops since the start of enforcement.
State police have issued 567 tickets for various motor vehicle violations, 110 of which were for seat belt law violations and 162 of which were related to speeding.
There have been eight driving under the influence arrests.
