ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) _ Three Canisius players returned three interceptions for touchdowns Saturday as the Golden Griffins tied a Division I-AA record in their 33-13 win over Siena on Saturday.

Jason Ozolins, Scott Dochat and Michael Fliss all returned interceptions for touchdowns, as Canisius joined Delaware State, Montana and Tennessee-Chattanooga as the only Division I-AA schools to have returned three interceptions for touchdowns in a single game.

Siena committed eight turnovers in total in the loss.

Ozolina opened the scoring with a 77-yard interception return at 9:23 of the first quarter to give Canisius (0-1, 1-0) an early 7-0 lead in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game.

Scott Phillips increased the Griffins’ lead to 14-0 with a 2-yard plunge on fourth down at 13:08 of the second.

Siena (0-1, 0-1) got on the scoreboard with two minutes left in the first half with a 22-yard scamper by Reggie Greene. The tailback then opened the second half with an 87-yard kickoff to return to cut the deficit 14-13.

That would end Siena’s scoring, however, as Canisius’ Paul Marvar connected with Matt Kolbe on a timing pattern to make it 20-13 at 11:32 of the third.

After that, Siena quarterback Scott Riecke was picked off three times. Ozolina killed a game-tying drive with his second interception, one of three for the day, in the left corner of the end zone, at 10:19 of the third.

Dochat and Fliss scored their interceptions for touchdowns in the last five minutes of the contest.
