CHICAGO (AP) _ In its first match since winning the Women’s World Cup last month, the United States will play Ireland on Sept. 4 at Foxboro, Mass.

The U.S. women, who have won two world titles in the 1990s, will play Ireland at 4:30 p.m. EDT. That will be followed at 7:30 p.m. by a Major League Soccer game between the New England Revolution and Tampa Bay Mutiny.

The Americans are 20-2-2 this year.

``The U.S. team is still enjoying the excitement and popularity generated from the Women’s World Cup,″ coach Tony DiCicco said. ``At the same time we want to use this enthusiasm to start our preparation for Sydney 2000.″
