Maureen Burke of Norton is heading to her first Super Bowl after winning the Big Game contest through the mail.

“It’s so exciting. I can’t even believe it,” said the diehard Patriots fan and mother of three.

Burke’s name was chose from among entrants at Digital First Media newspapers in Massachusetts and New York, including The Sun.

Burke said she participated in the Big Game contest by mailing in several entries after reading the Boston Herald, with no expectation that she’d ever win. Now she and her 22-year-old son Patrick are headed to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta for Super Bowl LIII on Feb. 3.

In addition to the tickets, Burke’s prize package includes round-trip airfare for two to Atlanta, a four-night hotel stay, tickets to a tailgate party and two merchandise bags.

“We’ve never been to Atlanta so it will be cool to see the city and to be involved in the excitement for the whole thing and to be in the middle of all that,” Burke said.

With the holidays approaching, Burke said it will be tough to top tickets to the Super Bowl when it comes to Christmas gifts.

“It’s just amazing,” Burke said. “It hasn’t sunk in yet. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity. It’s just amazing.”
