LOCAL COLLEGE: Tolley, Mcveagh Lead Scranton Past Marywood

Elizabeth Tolley and Katherine McVeagh scored in the second half to give the University of Scranton a 2-0 win over Marywood University on Tuesday in a field hockey match.

Women’s soccer

Marywood University scored three goals in the second half to pull away for from Lycoming, 5-1.

Cara Romaniello scored two goals for the Pacers (1-5) and Julie Youngman had a goal and two assists.

Scranton 2, New York Univ. 1

At Scranton, Erica Licari converted a penalty kick with 12 seconds left to give the Scranton the win.

Neumann 5, Keystone 1

At La Plume, Nisa Cortes scored Keystone’s only goal and Western Wayne graduate Rebekah Shephered had 15 saves for the Giants (0-5).

Women’s volleyball

Beth Muhlenkamp had 20 kills to lead Clarks Summit University to a 3-1 win over Gwynedd Mercy University.

Kara Brown had 13 kills for the Lady Defenders (3-9) and Alexa Wagner had 19 assists and 21 digs.

■ Lackawanna College split a pair of matches, losing to Harcum College, 3-0, and beating Manor College, 3-0. Jordan Skoff had 11 kills and five digs for the Lady Falcons (3-6) against Harcum and Brenda Reninga had seven assists. Reninga had 11 assists and six aces against Manor and Amaya Townsend had six kills, eight aces and six digs.
