Katy ISD to celebrate role of volunteers

May 5, 2019

While Katy ISD is one of the biggest and fastest growing school districts in the state, the district relies on volunteers to help in a lot of areas.

Knowing the vital role that volunteers play, the Volunteers In Public Schools Celebration is scheduled for 8:45 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, at the Merrell Center.

According to Katy’s ISD’s Partners in Education program, the celebration “salutes the time and talents of over 22,000 incredible volunteers who make up the heartbeat of our Partners in Education programs. Their contributions to our schools help make Katy ISD a sought-after school district not only for academic excellence but also for the enormous support from our parent volunteers and community.”

The celebration includes breakfast and entertainment from students along with keynote speaker Aidan Thomas Anderson, co-founder of Aidan Cares. The highlight of the event will be the recognition of the “volunteer of the year” from each campus in the district.
