Plenty of sun and above average temps in the forecast for Sioux City
SIOUX CITY -- After a rainy few days, Siouxland will be experiencing sunny skies and above-normal temps for the next several days, according to Mike Gillispie, a hydrologist with the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls.
“Although some of Siouxland might see some patchy fog in the morning, things should clear up quickly,” he said. “Expect calm winds, plenty of sun and a forecast high in the mid-80s.”
South/southwest winds will return to Siouxland during the overnight hours, boosting Tuesday’s overnight low to the 60s and Wednesday’s daytime high to the upper 80s.
Gillispie said this will be the pattern for the next several days.
“I think the word of the week will be consistency,” he said. “Expect plenty of sun, and days in the upper 80s until, at least, next Monday.”
However, Gillispie said you can’t characterize this kind of forecast as representing the dog days of summer.
“Humidity is likely not be much of a factor,” he said. “We’ll just be experiencing some pleasant summer days.”
