Dow Gains 100 in Early Trading
NEW YORK (AP) _ The Dow Jones industrial average is up more than 100 points in the first 15 minutes of trading today. Advancers on the New York Stock Exchange hold a nearly 3-1 lead over decliners.
The Nasdaq Composite Index is up 45 points and the S&P 500 Index is up ten points.
It looks like Wall Street has gotten lucky on this Friday the 13th.
Investors are applauding today’s benign inflation report.
The Labor Department said this morning that wholesale prices rose just 0.2 percent in July, easing fears of mounting inflation.
Bond prices are solidly higher as well.
