Prison for man who shot at Pima County Sheriff’s deputies
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A man accused of shooting at Pima County Sheriff’s deputies nearly two years ago has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Prosecutors say David Allen White was charged with robbery and multiple counts of aggravated assault.
White was arrested after he allegedly pushed a child to the ground and stole the child’s bicycle in north Tucson in December 2016.
A woman also was arrested in the case and was driving a car with White as a passenger when sheriff’s deputies tried to stop the vehicle.
However, the car drove into a desert area and authorities say White ran from the vehicle, pointed a gun at the deputies and fired several shots.
Nobody was injured. White was taken into custody.
