Three wishes for the city in 2019
I would like to respond to the request in the Post Bulletin for use of the old Chateau Theatre.
My fervent wishes for the Year of 2019 are that all members of the present city council (1) resign/retire in Jan 2019, (2) join with ex-Mayor Brede, and (3) form an organization with the financial control and leadership of Gus Chafoulias. This organization would have the responsibility of the Mayo Civic Center, the 125 Alive facility, and the old Chateau Theatre.
Enough of Rochester taxpayerss money has been awarded to Gus and Titan Development/Investments. Now it is time for them to give back to the Rochester Community that has helped them forward their personal and business interests.
The Rochester taxpayers need relief from subsidizing all of these facilities, which have resulted from poor hindsight, poor decision making, and poor oversight by the mayor and City Council over the past few years. Fiduciary responsibility (person who holds a legal or ethical relationship of trust with one or more other parties) has been lacking by the ex-mayor and City Council to the Rochester residents. I want and envision a return of a responsible and totally representative city council.
Isn’t it also time that we kick the Mayo Clinic out of overseeing the City Council and the foreseeable future for the residents of Rochester?
