WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ Mendy Lopez hit a two-run homer and Larry Sutton had a three-run double as the Double-A Wichita Wranglers beat their parent club, the Kansas City Royals, 17-1 Tuesday night in an exhibition game.

Jose Rosado, brought in to start for the Wranglers from Triple-A Omaha, gave up one run on nine hits in seven innings.

The Royals rested their regular pitchers, but fielded their other starters for most of the game.

The Wranglers scored eight runs in the third inning and led 11-0 after Sutton’s double.

Sal Fasano homered for Kansas City in the seventh.
