Wofford 98, Tusculum 86

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) _ Seth Chadwick and Terrence Gilyard scored 21 points apiece to lead Wofford to a 98-86 victory over Tusculum Monday night.

Wofford (1-1) survived a hot 3-point shooting performance by Tusculum (1-4). The Pioneers made 17 of 34 attempts and shot 50.9 percent from the field overall.

The Terriers led 47-43 at the half.

Wofford broke open the game with a 12-to-5 run to take a 62-51 lead. Reggie DeGray had five points to key the spurt, capped by a Chadwick jumper.

The Terriers led by as many as 14 points before Tusculum rallied to close the deficit to 87-81 on a pair of Tim McPhail free throws with 2:11 to play.

Wofford closed the game with an 11-to-5 run.

Wes Husband paced Tusculum with 21 points. Greg Barnett added 15, on five 3-pointers.
