HAMBURG, Germany (AP) _ Tennis star Steffi Graf, hobbling on crutches after foot surgery, had a tearful pre-Christmas reunion with her jailed father, a newspaper reported Sunday.

Steffi Graf, her mother Heidi and brother Michael visited Peter Graf on Friday in the Mannheim prison, where he is being held on suspicion of tax evasion, the Bild am Sonntag newspaper said.

``They fell into each other's arms, crying ... she promised to post any bond that could lead to his release,'' the newspaper said.

Peter Graf is not allowed to receive Christmas presents, so Steffi could give him only some fruit and cookies bought in the prison store, Bild said.

But he can order in gourmet meals from a luxury hotel in Mannheim, Bild said, including venison in a hazelnut crust for Christmas dinner.

Peter Graf was arrested in August on suspicion of tax evasion on more than $30 million of his daughter's earnings. Peter Graf has acted as Steffi's manager from the beginning of her career.

Steffi Graf underwent surgery 10 days ago to remove bone splinters from her left foot. She will miss next month's Australian Open, the first Grand Slam event of the year. She is co-ranked No. 1 in the world with Monica Seles.
