Hurricanes Assign Ross to Cyclones

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) _ The Carolina Hurricanes assigned goaltender Tyler Moss to the Cincinnati Cyclones of the International Hockey League for conditioning and recalled Jean-Marc Pelletier from Cincinnati to fill in.

Moss has played in seven games this season, compiling a 1-4 record with a 4.22 goals against average and a .853 save percentage, but he has not appeared in any of Carolina’s past 15 games.

Moss signed as a free agent with Carolina during the off-season and has played in 24 NHL games and the Calgary Flames.

Pelletier was 7-5 with the Cyclones this season with a save percentage of .910 and a goals against average of 2.89.

Pelletier was acquired by Carolina along with Rod Brind’Amour and a second-round pick in the 2000 entry draft for Keith Primeau and a fifth-round pick.

Last season, he split the year between Philadelphia of the American Hockey League and Cincinnati. He was 14-10-0 with Philadelphia and 14-4-2 with Cincinnati.
