Fallen Danbury officer’s name to be added to national memorial
DANBURY - A Danbury constable, who had a fatal heart attack while on duty will have his name added to the the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C.
Frederick P. Ellis suffered a fatal heart attack while conducting traffic control at the scene of a major structure fire at the intersection of Pahquioque Avenue. and East Liberty Street on May 2, 1964.
“The Danbury Police Department is honored to know his name will be forever memorialized along side the 20,267 Police Officers who have given their lives in service to their communities across the United States,” Danbury police posted on their Facebook page.
Ellis’ name will be added to the memorial on May 13, 2019 in recognition of his sacrifice to the City of Danbury,
