2 killed in Czech small plane crash
PRAGUE (AP) — An ultralight plane crashed in southern Czech Republic early Thursday, killing both men on board, officials said.
The two-seat Dynamic plane went down near the village of Kondrac after taking off from an airport in the nearby city of Ceske Budejovice, said police, rescue and fire squad officials. Authorities did not identify the victims other than to say they were men aged in their 50s and 60s.
Petra Kafkova, a spokeswoman for the regional rescue service, said rescue squads at the scene were unable to resuscitate the men following severe injuries that they sustained.
The cause of the crash was not immediately known, and authorities were investigating.
