State Police are looking for a suspect who attempted to rob a People’s United Bank ATM by repeatedly ramming it with a full-size pickup truck.

Troopers say the attempted larceny happened around 10:45 p.m. on Monday in Somers.

According to the 9-1-1 call made to police, a full size pick-up truck approached the United Bank ATM kiosk and began ramming the ATM kiosk repeatedly.

During this incident, the operator seen in the attached photographs exited the vehicle in an attempt to conduct a larceny, but was unsuccessful.

Troopers said the operator then fled the scene in what is believed to be a 2000 GMC 2500 extended cab.

The driver’s side rear quarter panel area was witnessed to have sustained moderate damage and the rear left tail light was broken as a result of the attempt to ram the ATM.

The structure which housed the ATM sustained extensive damage.
