Maine-Nova Scotia ferry service announces fares

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The operator of the new Maine to Nova Scotia ferry service says travelers will be able to make a one-way trip for as little as $79.

Nova Star Cruises is launching the daily service between Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Portland, Maine next May.

One-way, adult fares for the nine-hour cruise will range from $79 to $129, while fares for children ages 5 to 12 will range from $39 to $64, depending on the date. Children under 5 are free at all times.

The 531-foot-long Nova Star will have three restaurants, three bars, a casino, a conference room and theater, and a children’s play area along with 152 cabins and capacity for 1,215 passengers and 336 cars.

The cost to bring a car on board will range from $129 to $179.
