Nanticoke Man Faces Drug Charges

HANOVER TWP. — A Nanticoke man is facing drug-trafficking charges after being found in possession of more than three pounds of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. Richard J. Simon Jr., 33, of West Main Street, was arrested Tuesday afternoon along the Sans Souci Parkway and found in possession of new vape kits, $2,350 in cash and 66 vials of THC, the chemical found in marijuana, police said. A subsequent search of Simon’s home turned up 96 vials of THC, 3½ pounds of marijuana, three-quarters of a pound of marijuana butter, a digital scale, baggies, vape kits and cash, police said. The street value of the seized drugs is in excess of $20,000, according to police. Police charged Simon with drug trafficking, drug possession and possessing drug paraphernalia. He was being held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility with bail set at $25,000. — JAMES HALPIN
