LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Marcos Armas homered and drove in three runs Saturday night to power Tacoma to an 8-4 win over Las Vegas in the Pacific Coast League.

The Tigers, who broke their eight-game losing streak, took a 7-1 lead after 2 1/2 innings on a two-run double and Armas’ 15th homer.

The Stars closed to 7-3 on a two-run homer by Harvey Pulliam, his 20th, in the bottom half of the third. Las Vegas got another run in the fourth off winning pitcher Mike Mohler (1-2) but couldn’t get any closer.

Mohler allowed four runs and nine hits in five innings, striking out three and walking two. Curtis Shaw pitched three scoreless innings in relief, allowing one hit and striking out four. Mark Acre pitched a scoreless ninth.

Billy Hall and Ray Holvert had two hits apiece for the Stars, who stranded 10 runners.

All nine Las Vegas batters had at least one hit.
