Reno’s Yasmany Tomas has been named the Pacific Coast League’s Player of the Week after he hit seven home runs, including four in a single game. The 28-year-old outfielder for the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Triple-A affiliate went 12-for-30 last week with 13 RBI and 10 runs scored.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno’s Yasmany Tomas (yahs-MAH’-nee toh-MAS’) has been named the Pacific Coast League’s Player of the Week after he hit seven home runs, including four in a single game.

The 28-year-old outfielder for the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Triple-A affiliate went 12-for-30 last week with 13 RBI and 10 runs scored.

Thomas homered in four consecutive games last week. The native of Cuba hit four homers and knocked in eight runs in the Aces’ 25-8 victory over Tacoma in Reno on May 20.

For the season, he’s batting .302 with 16 home runs, 42 RBI and 118 total bases in 49 games played.
