Reasons behind the declining trend land on both ends of the spectrum. Researchers believe that Millennials are leading healthier lifestyles with more focus on their career and personal goals. They are taking longer to settle down and are receiving less pressure to have sex. People are becoming more picky about what they like and aren't rushing into things like previous generations.

On the contrary, researchers have found that Millennials are more distracted due to constant technology and media surrounding them. This is extending to the bedroom and causing couples to become less intimate less often.

Technological innovations over the years, including contraceptive pills and online dating apps, have changed the way Millennials approach dating. You would think this would lead to an increase in sexual activity, however researchers have found that technology has been more of a distraction in the bedroom.

Two major contributors to this are social media and mental health. The Journal of Sexual Medicine revealed that there is a strong connection between depression and reduced sexual desire. On top of that, people are spending so much time engaged in social media that they completely disconnect from their surroundings and their partners.
