More than 1,200 calls responded to in January

WINFIELD — The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department during the month of January responded to 1,256 calls for assistance, and made 22 felony arrests and 59 misdemeanor arrests, according to a news release from Sheriff Steve Deweese.

The Road Patrol also investigated 65 auto crashes, and issued 4 misdemeanor citations. Furthermore, the Road Patrol arrested 11 DUIs and completed 131 written complaints. Also, 66 warrants and 15 Domestic Violence Petitions served in person.

Home Confinement averaged 39 inmates with 188 home verifications, and Western Regional Jail averaged 84 inmates per day.

The Process division served 460 civil papers.

The Tax Office accepted 83 concealed carry permits and issued 46 permits; 701 DMV decals were also issued.
