SEOUL, South Korea (AP) _ The government on Friday ordered a nationwide medical check of about 150,000 prostitutes and other women who work among tourists to prevent any spread of AIDS after the Olympic Games.

Only a few cases of acquired immune deficiency syndrome have been reported in South Korea. However, officials are worried the disease may spread after a large influx of foreigners visited for the Olympics.

About 25,000 foreign tourists visited South Korea for the Olympics and the Paralympics for the handicapped, officials said.
