Hartford Boat Show: Event marks 50th year with hundreds of watercraft and exhibitors
Want to forget that it’s winter? The Hartford Boat Show can help with inspiring ideas for enjoying life on and near the water.
This popular event, in its 50th year, cruises into Mohegan Sun’s new Earth Expo Center, Thursday, Jan. 17 to Sunday, Jan. 20. And with more than 125 exhibitors and 400 watercraft, you just might need all four days to take in the whole show.
Featuring the newest vessels on the market — from center consoles and fishing boats to luxury cruisers — this show has grown so popular, it’s expected to draw 15,000 visitors.
While boats are the main attraction, with over 95 brands, including motors and trailers, there’s plenty more to see, including personal watercraft such as jet skis, kayaks, inflatables, paddle boats and boards.
And that’s just splashing the surface. There’s also fishing gear and information on marinas and boatyards, electronics, boating accessories, marine schools and educational programs.
Produced by the Connecticut Marine Trades Association and powered by Evinrude/BRP, the show features more than 23 new exhibitors, demonstrations on skills such as boat building, and an area dedicated to new boaters.
“Learn Everything Under the Sun” is a new interactive learning center which will feature an ongoing series of open sessions on boat maintenance and safety, according to a news release. There will also be an area highlighting career opportunities in marine trades, the CMTA Foundation and scholarship programs.
