Goshen County Library book sale starts Jan. 5

December 31, 2018

TORRINGTON — Book lovers looking for some new reads in 2019 are in luck, as the Goshen County Library will once again hold a book sale from Jan. 5-12.

Librarian Helen Pugsley said the entire week of the sale will be a bag sale, where customers can fill a bag full of books for one amount. One bag will cost $15 from Jan. 5-9, and $10 from Jan. 10-12. As usual, the sale will be held in the library’s activity center, which will be open during regular library hours.

Joan Brinkley, the library’s director, said that the money from the January sale goes toward many of the library’s projects, particularly the summer reading program.

“Last year, we dedicated all the funds that we brought in directly to the summer reading program,” she said. “That allowed us to bring in musical acts and that was awesome. That’s what we’ll be focusing on this year, most likely.”
