PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — An astronaut currently stationed on the International Space Station sent a special greeting to patients at a children’s hospital in Providence.

NASA astronaut Anne McClain sent a special greeting to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in celebration of the “Good Night Lights” tradition.

Since 2016, residents, police officers and local businesses have participated in Good Night Lights each night.

The tradition involves shining a light toward the hospital at 8:30 p.m. before bedtime, with the children shining lights back in return.

Patients were shown the video from McClain inside the playroom on the fifth floor Wednesday night right before Good Night Lights.
