Israeli Soldiers Kill Teen-Ager In Clash
RAMALLAH, Occupied West Bank (AP) _ Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian teen-ager today during several hours of clashes with youths throwing stones and Molotov cocktails, witnesses said.
The youth was shot between the eyes as he threw a Molotov cocktail at a telephone company building, witnesses said.
The explosive hit a telephone pole and fell back on the teen-ager, badly burning him, said Fatmeh Abdel Mouti, 45, who saw the shooting from her kitchen window.
The military spokesman’s office said the youth died shortly after the incident. Another youth was apparently wounded in the leg by army fire, the office reported.
The dead teen-ager was not identified.
Another Palestinian shot by soldiers during a clash at a Hebron college on Tuesday also died today.
Muhammad Husam Fanoun, 20, was one of seven Palestinians wounded when soldiers opened fire on stone-throwers in Hebron, Arab reports said. The army confirmed his death.
The clash occurred at Hebron’s Al-Rahma College for Girls when Palestinian youth gathered to mourn the death of four activists. The activists, from the Islamic fundamentalist group Hamas, were killed by soldiers in a shootout Friday, the reports said.
