Wayne County man charged with sexual assault, strangulation
WAYNE - A Wayne County man was jailed Friday following an alleged sexual assault at his home Tuesday.
Charles Mathew Bailey, 29, of Huntington, was charged with second-degree sexual assault and strangulation after a female victim told Wayne County authorities that after an argument he began hitting her, then throwing her on a bed before putting his hand around her throat and forcing her to perform oral sex.
According to the criminal complaint filed in Wayne County Magistrate Court, deputies responded to a domestic call in Vanderpool Gardens on W.Va. 75 and found the female victim covered in blood with large amounts of her hair pulled out and a scratch on her throat.
The alleged victim told police she went to the home to speak to Bailey about a water bill that was in her name. She said she had not been residing in the home since July 2.
The woman also claimed she was attacked by pitbull dogs that were inside the home and that Bailey ordered her to take off her pants, but his current girlfriend came into the residence and made her leave.
Bailey was taken to the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville and bond was set at $61,000.
