LOWELL -- A search of a Madison Street apartment turned up 124 grams of cocaine, more than $1,000 in cash and other items police say are consistent with drug manufacturing and distribution.

According to Capt. Paul Laferriere, detectives from the Special Investigation Section of the Lowell Police Department executed a search warrant on Monday at 45 Madison St., second floor, as part of an ongoing narcotics distribution investigation.

During that search, police found 124.5 grams of cocaine, $1,326 in cash, three scales and several other items used in making and distributing cocaine, he said.

Laferriere said Lowell Police are seeking a warrant for the arrest of an unnamed 30-year-old Lowell man on narcotics charges.

No other details were immediately available.
