Munzee’s 7th Anniversary Celebration Highlights Player Activity and International Events
TUSTIN, CA / ACCESSWIRE / August 3, 2018 / Freeze Tag ( OTC PINK: FRZT ), a leading creator of location-based mobile social games, has wrapped up a month-long celebration of Munzee’s seventh anniversary. The month included a variety of in-game specials, player and company sponsored events, new item releases and more.
Throughout July more than 9 million munzees were captured overall and more than 500,000 new munzees were deployed worldwide. A significant factor in the increased deployments was Temporary Virtual Munzees, which were released earlier this year. Temporary Virtuals are deployed on a new layer of the map, so players don’t have to worry about trying to deploy in areas that are already populated with other munzees. More than 400,000 Temporary Virtuals were captured in the month of July and they were particularly popular at locations hosting Munzee Birthday Events.

In celebration of Munzee’s seventh birthday, players had the opportunity to host their own circus-themed events by purchasing a ” Cirque Du Munz” event package. Event packages included custom event artwork for badges and icons, special game pieces, giveaways and more. 77 birthday events were held during July, including two official events hosted by the Freeze Tag team in Allen, TX and Orange, CA. More than 98,000 custom event munzees were captured throughout the month and nearly 3,000 players attended a Munzee event of some sort.
With Birthday month finished, the Munzee Event focus now shifts to the annual MHQ Bash celebration this Fall. Each year since 2014 Munzee has hosted MHQ Bash in the North Texas area. The weekend-long event draws players from across the world, as far as Australia, Lithuania, and Denmark. This year MHQ Bash is October 26-28 and has been nicknamed MH-BOO Bash based on its spooky Halloween theme. MHQ Bash has been attended by several hundred people each year and gives players an opportunity to meet staff and tour Munzee offices.
