_KENTUCKY PENSIONS-VETO, from Frankfort: Kentucky lawmakers are being briefed on a new pension bill as Gov. Matt Bevin’s administration continues preparations for a special legislative session.

_SLAIN TEEN, from Beech Grove, Ind.: A Kentucky soldier has been arrested in the fatal shooting of an Indiana teenager.

_ELECTRIC RATES, from Frankfort: The Kentucky Public Service Commission has set new base rates for the two largest electric providers in Kentucky.

_TREE STRIKES HOMES, from Jeffersonville, Ind.: Southern Indiana authorities say residents inside two homes were lucky they escaped injury when a towering oak tree toppled onto both homes.

_LAW ENFORCEMENT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS, from Richmond: A foundation has awarded $48,000 to 26 Kentucky students, including three surviving children of law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.
