Authorities identify found body as missing Utah woman
WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Authorities say the body found in a West Valley City drainage pipe has been identified as a missing Utah woman.
The medical examiner’s office identified the body as 43-year-old Cami Shepherd who was reported missing in early February.
Authorities say an autopsy found no obvious signs of trauma on the body. A cause of death has not yet been determined. Police say they’re awaiting toxicology results.
A survey crew discovered the body floating in about 4 feet (1 meter) of water in a drainage overflow encasement behind a former department store building last week.
Authorities say the family reported that it was common for Shepherd to disappear, but she had been gone for longer than usual.
