Vigil planned in Maine city for New Zealand shooting victims
LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — A vigil to honor victims of the New Zealand mosque shootings is being planned for Maine’s second largest city.
The Immigrant Resource Center of Maine is hosting the event, entitled Standing Up Against Hate, Sunday afternoon at Kennedy Park in Lewiston.
In addition to honoring the victims of the Friday attacks in Christchurch, New Zealand that killed 50, the Sunday vigil will remember seven people killed Wednesday in an attack on a school in southern Brazil.
The Sunday vigil is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
