MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) _ Honeywell International has reached out-of-court settlements on undisclosed terms with plaintiffs in a West Virginia lawsuit who claimed their health problems were linked to asbestos.

Michael Holland, a company spokesman, declined to comment Tuesday on how many claims were involved in the suit. He also would not provide details on the settlements, saying only that all cases related to the suit had either been resolved or dismissed by Sept. 16.

The company, which faces several other asbestos-related suits outside West Virginia, was one of several firms named in a lawsuit exoected to go to trial this week. The case has involved about 8,000 asbestos claims against 250 defendants, including companies such as Exxon Mobil Corp. and Owens-Illinois Inc.

In early trading on the New York Stock Exchange, Honeywell shares were down 6 cents at $22.91.
