New Voter Registration to End

April 9, 2019

WESTMINSTER -- The last day for new voter registration for Annual Town Election is 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 10.

In addition, the last day for new voter registration for Annual Town Meeting is 8 p.m., Friday, April 12.

The clerk’s office will accept registrations until 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday for the Town Election and 1 p.m. on Friday.

After those times, voter registration forms will be available at the Police Station’s dispatch center until 8 p.m.

Also available is online voter registration at www.sec.state.ma.us/OVR up until midnight.

The Annual Town Election takes place from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 in the Westminster Elementary School Gym.

The Annual Town Meeting takes place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, in the Westminster Elementary School Cafeteria.

Earth Day cleanup at Crocker site

FITCHBURG -- The North County Land Trust will host an Earth Day cleanup at Crocker Conservation Area.

Attendees will help clean up trails for spring from 10 a.m. to noon on April 20.

People should bring work gloves and wear boots or sturdy shoes for the cleanup. Trash bags will be provided.

The entrance to the conservation area is at the end of Flat Rock Road, which is where attendees should park their cars.

Info meeting set on solar program

LUNENBURG -- Nexamp, which is building a new 5 megawatt solar farm near Settlers Crossing Golf, is holding an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 10 at the Middle High School to present a new community solar program for Unitil customers.

The new solar farm will generate enough energy to power up to 200 homes.

Unitil customers in Lunenburg, Fitchburg, Ashby or Townsend will be eligible to participate in a program that potentially lower utility bills by 10 to 15 percent. There will be second informational meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at the Public Library.
